2026 Construction Industry Economic Outlook

In October, Meaden & Moore’s Construction & Real Estate Group hosted its Construction of a modern building and a skyscraper annual Construction Industry Economic Outlook, featuring expert insights from FMI, a leading consulting and investment banking firm dedicated exclusively to the built environment. Held once again at Ken Stewart’s Lodge in Bath, Ohio, the event brought together clients, colleagues, and industry partners for an evening of networking, discussion, and forward-looking analysis.

The night began with networking over heavy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, giving attendees the opportunity to connect and share perspectives on the challenges and opportunities shaping today’s construction landscape.

This year’s presentation was led by Nelson Newman, Consultant at FMI, who provided timely insights on several key issues influencing the industry:

Market Outlook for 2026 and Beyond

Nelson shared an in-depth look at economic trends across multiple construction sectors, highlighting regional dynamics in Northeast Ohio and outlining where firms may find growth in the coming year.

The Evolving Role of Project Management

As project expectations continue to increase, Nelson discussed how the project management function is transforming—and what organizations need to consider when developing future leaders in this area.

Technology & AI Integration in Construction

From workflow automation to data-driven forecasting, Nelson explored how AI and emerging technologies are reshaping the construction industry and driving new efficiencies.

Building a Future-Ready Organization

Nelson emphasized the importance of strategic planning, talent development, and innovation to remain competitive in a changing environment.

At Meaden & Moore, we are committed to helping construction leaders stay informed and prepared for what’s ahead. Our annual outlook event is part of that commitment—providing timely insights, trusted expertise, and opportunities to engage with peers across the industry.

Thank you to everyone who joined us this year. We look forward to seeing you again at future events.
