Michelle Buckley Presented at the AICPA National Employee Benefit Conference

Michelle Buckley, Vice President and Practice Leader of our Benefit Plan Group presented at the AICPA National Employee Benefit Conference on November 9, 2020.

The online conference provided attendees with key updates on recent and proposed legislative changes and regulatory issues. 800 attendees were able to interact, and chat live during sessions with the speakers and fellow virtual attendees.

Michelle spoke about differentiating and understanding the GAAP treatment, impact to financial reporting and related nuances for:

• • Mergers
  • Terminations
  • Trustee and recordkeeper changes and
  • Spinoffs

Attendees were presented with the appropriate GAAP and tax treatment related to these topics as well as some considerations to the plan sponsor when these transactions occur.

Michelle is a Vice President in Meaden & Moore’s Assurance Services Group with 23 years of public accounting experience serving publicly held and private companies.  As a practice leader of the firm’s employee benefits and consulting practice, Michelle has had extensive experience with qualified benefit plan audits, operational reviews, tax issues and the unique complexities of these engagements.
