The award recognizes Kendra’s leadership, strategic guidance, and lasting impact on ArtsNow and the broader arts and culture community. As a past Treasurer and Board President of ArtsNow, she helped guide the organization through pivotal years of growth while championing arts and culture as essential to a vibrant and resilient Summit County.

ArtsNow strengthens Summit County by advancing its arts and culture resources and connecting them with the broader community. Through advocacy, collaboration, and support for artists and cultural organizations, ArtsNow helps expand access to cultural experiences and strengthens the role of creativity in the region’s economic and social vitality.

Kendra’s community leadership is complemented by her extensive experience serving not-for-profit organizations. She leads Meaden & Moore’s not-for-profit practice and, over her 20 years with the firm, has provided attestation and tax services to numerous not-for-profit organizations and privately held businesses. Her expertise includes assurance services, internal control reviews, engagements under Government Auditing Standards, and agreed-upon procedures. She also advises small business owners on accounting best practices.

Beyond her work with ArtsNow, Kendra serves on the boards of the Greater Akron Chamber, Akron Community Foundation, and Akron Art Museum. She is a founding committee member of the Black Giving Collective Fund of Akron Community Foundation and a past President of its Women’s Endowment Fund. These commitments reflect her continued dedication to strengthening organizations and creating opportunities throughout the community.

ArtsNow’s fifth annual State of the Arts event will bring the community together to celebrate Summit County’s arts and culture sector and recognize those helping shape its future. The event will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 4–6 p.m. at House Three Thirty in Akron.

Please join us in congratulating Kendra on this well-deserved honor!
