Experience
Allen Littman is a tax attorney and CPA with over 26 years of experience in a wide variety of U.S. and international tax matters involving foreign and domestic businesses and individuals. In 2015, Mr. Littman moved from Washington DC to Cleveland, Ohio, where he started his own tax firm.
The scope of Mr. Littman’s practice primarily encompasses:
- Tax planning with an emphasis on international tax planning, tax-effective coordination between foreign and U.S. tax systems, and tax treaties;
- Tax controversy and compliance, and
- Legislative and IRS regulatory tax matters.
In his practice, he represents public and private entities, investors, and small business owners in a wide variety of inbound and outbound tax matters. He is experienced in coordinating U.S. and foreign tax planning in a tax-effective manner, working with foreign advisors as necessary. He also currently teaches Advanced International Tax in the Masters of Tax Program at the University of Akron.
Prior to moving to Cleveland, he was an international tax partner and Of Counsel in the Washington DC office of Baker Hostetler (2008-2015). From 2003 to 2008, he served as Legislation Counsel to the Joint Committee on Taxation of the United States Congress, where he worked on the formulation of international tax legislation and policy, drafting of the Code and legislative history and tax treaty policy and ratification. From 1998 to 2003, Mr. Littman was the Director of International Tax at MCI Worldcom, a global telecommunications company. Before that, he was an associate tax attorney at a few law firms.

- LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida College of Law in Gainesville, Florida (as valedictorian)
- J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law in Coral Gables, Florida, cum laude
- M.B.A. in Professional Accounting and A.B. in Mathematics from Rutgers University in New Jersey
- M.A. in Psychology from Montclair State University in New Jersey
